English or Philosophy?
For English tutoring, working with a fully-qualified native speaker you can be sure that your knowledge will improve with clear goals in mind. Whether you are interested in short-term help to pass specific examinations, or longer-term guidance to widen your skills in different areas, friendly and interesting lessons help you stay motivated and passionate about learning. Tutoring in this subject is useful for young and old, students or professionals. You are never to young to start learning English, and never to old to improve!
Philosophy students who want help with their lukio/gymnasium examinations with a relaxed and focussed tutor need look no further. Together we will untangle the mysteries of the subject with stimulating exercises and discussion. Language of instruction is English or Swedish. I am also very happy to tutor anyone who has a general interest in the subject and would like to discover more of the great ideas that shape our thinking. Consultation services in Business Ethics and related topics are also available for businesses.
About your tutor
I am an English/Finnish dual national and have lived in Finland since 1998. My career has always involved English, from journalism to editing and copywriting, and of course teaching. My first degree was in Philosophy from the University of Helsinki where I focussed on practical ethics. In 2025, I received my second Master’s degree from Åbo Akademi in English Language and Literature. My teaching qualifications include a TEFL certificate from ESL Madrid, as well as a teaching degree from Åbo Akademi in Vaasa to teach in Swedish in Finland.
I am an enthusiastic and motivated tutor for all of my students. I am very interested in the topics that I teach and love to help people understand them more. I am equally comfortable teaching children and high-level executives and can help anyone meet their subject goals.
For both subjects, we will create a personalised learning plan suited specifically to your needs. I offer face-to-face teaching in Raasepori, and remote teaching anywhere in Finland.
